In the emerging world of technology, technicians are getting greater freedom, and responsibility, to take independent on-the-spot decisions to perform multi-faceted tasks. A deep understanding of the fundamentals of science and engineering is the foundation which gives the necessary background to assess the different situations and take independent technical decisions.
What we need is to study independent of foreign control, different branches of knowledge that is our own and with it the English language and the Western Science. We need Technical Education and all else which may develop industries, so that men, instead of seeking for service may earn enough to provide for themselves and to save something against a rainy day.
-- Swami Vivekananda
It was in 1954 that Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira came into existence as a Polytechnic offering 3 Yr. Diploma in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and our Alumni is well placed all over the country and abroad. In tune with the changing times the Mission decided to convert the Institute from a government of West Bengal sponsored Polytechnic to a private one from the July 2007-08 session.
Seminars on Computers & IT are organised by the Institute where different aspects of IT industry are covered. Students get a chance to participate and demonstrate their technical skills.
"Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success."
-- Swami Vivekananda
"Only two kinds of people can attain self-knowledge: those who are not encumbered at all with learning, that is to say, whose minds are not over-crowded with thoughts borrowed from others; and those who, after studying all the scriptures and sciences, have come to realise that they know nothing."
-- Sri Sri Ramakrishna
"It is in the very nature of man to see defects. You should learn to appreciate virtues. Man is no doubt liable to err, but you must not take notice. If you constantly find fault with others, you will see faults alone.’ … `Do not look at the faults of others lest your eyes should become vitiated."
-- Sri Sri Sarada Devi
