Electronics is the study of the flow of charge through various materials and devices such as semiconductors, resistors, inductors, capacitors, nano-structures and vacuum tubes. It is considered to be a theoretical branch of physics.

Programme Specific Outcomes of the Department (PSOs):

PSO-1 : Adopt a multi-disciplinary teaching- learning approach for inculcating a holistic engineering view among the students.
PSO-2 : Integrated approach to Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering through study of interlinkages between Analog & Digital Electronics, Embedded Systems, Communication Technologies and Computer Networking Systems.

PO-1 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization for the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO-2 Problem analysis: Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
PO-3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs.
PO-4 Modern tool usage: Ability to apply appropriate techniques, modern engineering and IT tools, to engineering problems.
PO-5 The engineer and society: An ability to apply reasoning to assess societal, safety, health and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practices.

Mission of the department

M1: To provide the students with strong foundations in bases of Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering, and allied disciplines.
M2: To impart core competencies and exposure to students on a range of equipment and methods employed in industrial workplace so that they can function as contributing professionals from day one.
M3: To undertake periodic curricular revision and upgrade the laboratories and workshops with latest equipment.
M4: To keep up to date with current trends in the field of Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering through continuous learning activities of faculty members and involvement in challenging student projects.
M5: To carry out interdisciplinary research and consultancy to generate practical engineering solutions. .


Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

1. To provide Analytical foundation of the Theory and Practice of Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering.
2. To give exposure to students on facets of Engineering Practice, and underlying Design aspects of existing technologies.
3. To train budding engineers in systematic Problem-identification & Debugging skills necessary in Professional workplace.
4. To sensitize the students on social and environmental dimensions of engineering activities so that they handle can complex real-life situations with a sense of dedication displaying integrity and born out of professionalism team-work, self-management, and effective decision-making.
5. To endow the students with tools for self-learning so that they can pursue higher education, and career enhancement through life-long professional up-skilling.
